1 - Athletes learn in a safe and structured environment, reducing the potential for injuries by focusing on the power of leverage rather than brute strength.

2 - Like traditional martial arts, there is a focus on respect and discipline - they learn to manage emotions and diffuse altercations (but will be able to defend themselves if push came to shove).

3 - Unlike karate or taekwondo, Jiu Jitsu is mostly grappling (ground control and positional dominance) they will learn skills to defend themselves without needing to immediately resort to striking.

4 - Cross training jiu jitsu for athletes from other sports gives them a mental edge above others, boosts confidence and focus, as well as balance, coordination, and the ability to fall and roll safely.
